Your shared admissions guide

Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools

Fourteen Lincolnshire grammar schools use a coordinated 11+ assessment covering verbal, non-verbal and spatial reasoning. The schools run their own admissions, so families should use their preferred school’s current instructions.

Plan your approach

Year 7 entry

For September 2027 entry

Two multiple-choice tests, one verbal reasoning and one non-verbal reasoning and spatial awareness; candidates mark an optical answer sheet.

Assessment provider: GL Assessment

What the assessment covers

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non verbal reasoning
  • Spatial awareness

The shared route uses two multiple-choice reasoning tests.

The Lincolnshire consortium website is linked from member-school 2027 admissions policies.

Caistor Grammar School uses its own entrance test and is outside this route.

The consortium’s general registration table says 31 March 2026, but Bourne Grammar published a 30 June 2026 school deadline and King’s Grantham reopened late registration; follow the chosen school’s instructions.

Only verbal reasoning and non-verbal/spatial reasoning are tested; ignore the English and maths downloads on the general GL free-materials page for this route.

Confirm registration and late-testing arrangements with the chosen school; the general consortium date is not universal.

  1. Check the entry point and eligibility

Confirm the year group, age requirements and any conditions that apply to your child.

  2. Put the right dates in your diary

Note any published registration, assessment, application and offer-response dates that apply to your child’s route. They may be separate steps.

  4. Check each school’s application steps

A shared assessment may still involve separate school applications, preferences, interviews or supplementary forms.
