Plusling FAQs
Questions? You're in the right place.
A little help getting started, finding the right practice, and making Plusling work for your family.
Getting started
Find out whether Plusling fits your family.
What can my child do with Plusling?
Plusling is a place to practise 11+ skills, get feedback, and understand the answer before having another go. Your child can choose a subject, work through questions, and return to their results. You can follow their practice from your family account.
Can we try it before creating an account?
Yes. Start the free taster in your browser and answer the first five questions without signing up. You'll see feedback and a result, with the option to continue for another five questions. An adult can then create an account to save both results and carry on practising.
Try a free quizIs Plusling only for children in Year 5?
Families can create learner profiles for children in different school years. The questions focus on 11+ skills, so the free taster is a useful way to judge whether the level suits your child. For younger children, explore a few questions together and keep the emphasis on understanding.
Read our guide to getting started with 11+ preparationCan we use a phone, iPad or laptop?
Yes. Open Plusling in your web browser on a phone, tablet or laptop, including an iPhone, iPad or MacBook. You don't need to install an app. Choose whichever screen feels comfortable for your child's practice.

What to practise, and what happens along the way.
Which subjects can my child practise?
Plusling covers English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. You can try a free quiz in each subject, then use your family account to continue practising and follow your child's progress.
Explore the four subjectsHow do we choose a practice session?
Flash gives your child ten questions in one subject. Focus offers eight to ten questions on selected topics. Survival is a timed answer-streak challenge, and Full Mock brings subjects together in a longer session. Start with the format that suits what your child wants to work on today.
See how practice worksWhat happens when my child gets an answer wrong?
A wrong answer is a chance to understand the question. Plusling shows feedback and an explanation so your child can see how to reach the answer. Leave a little time to read it together, especially when a topic is new.
How much practice should we do?
Start with a short session that fits comfortably around school and family life. Give your child time to think and read the explanations, rather than rushing to finish more questions. You can build a routine around the topics they need to revisit and how they feel about the practice.
Can we use Plusling alongside a tutor or workbooks?
Yes. Plusling provides practice and feedback alongside a tutor, school preparation or home support with workbooks. A parent, teacher or tutor can help explain unfamiliar methods and use completed work to decide what to practise next. Plusling is a practice and feedback companion rather than a complete taught course.
Does Plusling match my child's entrance exam?
Plusling offers original practice across the four main 11+ subject areas. Subjects, timings and question formats vary between schools and test providers, so check the current guidance for your target school as well. Plusling questions and mock sessions are not official exam papers.

How do I set up our family account?
An adult creates the family account using a mobile number and a verification code, then sets up a learner profile for each child. Each child has their own space for practice, while the adults supporting them can check completed work and manage the family account.
Does my child need an email address or password?
No. Children don't need their own email address, phone number or password to practise. An adult manages their access through the family account and opens the learner profile they want to use.
Can siblings use the same family account?
Yes. Give each child their own learner profile so their practice and results stay separate. A family can include up to six approved members in total, including the account owner, other adults and children.
How can I see how my child is getting on?
The parent zone shows your child's completed work, results and questions to revisit across their subjects and topics. You can use that history to spot topics worth another look and talk through explanations together. Practice results describe work completed in Plusling; they don't predict an entrance-exam result or a school place.
Can I help children in more than one family?
Yes. An adult can belong to more than one family and switch between them from their account. Each family keeps its own learner profiles, and what you can manage depends on your role in that family.
Cost and a helping hand
Clear answers about access and support.
Is Plusling free to use?
Yes. Full Plusling access is free during the current alpha, with no card needed and no usage quotas. Signed-in learners can use Flash, Focus, Survival and Full Mock across all four subjects in the browser on a phone, iPad or laptop. Alpha means we're still developing Plusling with families' feedback, and pricing may change as Plusling develops.
