Entry information
Abbey College Cambridge offers entry from Year 9 at age 13, followed by GCSE, A-level and foundation programmes. Its published routes are for older pupils rather than Year 7 admission. Applicants complete the relevant domestic or international application and normally meet a senior member of staff for an interview; course-specific academic and English-language requirements apply.
Entry stage: Year 9 (age 13), GCSE and sixth-form entry
The admissions process
- Choose the age-appropriate course: the school’s Year 9 programme is for pupils aged 13 and prepares them for GCSE study.
- Submit the domestic or international application form. The admissions team normally arranges an interview with a senior member of staff, online or in person.
- International applications require the most recent two years of school reports and evidence of English. Applicants without accepted English evidence are offered an online language assessment before the academic interview.
- Year 9 scholarship applicants first apply for the programme, then attend a full day of collaborative activities and an interview; this is a separate scholarship assessment.
