The admissions process

  • Complete the online application and pay the registration fee. For September 2027 entry, the school encourages applications before 30 November 2026 and also considers later applications where places remain.
  • The Year 7 Taster Morning is on Saturday 14 November 2026 for children currently in Year 6. The entrance assessment page describes an assessment day in January before entry; confirm the individual timetable with admissions.
  • The assessment includes English and Maths papers plus a computer-based Cognitive Ability Test. The school’s CEM Select familiarisation covers verbal, numerical and non-verbal ability in timed sections.
  • Use the school’s sample papers to become familiar with written responses: the writing sample allows 35 minutes for one of two descriptive tasks; the Maths sample allows 40 minutes, prohibits calculators and asks pupils to show working.
  • Applicants have an individual interview with a senior member of staff. Recent school reports and a confidential current-school reference are also required.
  • Discuss any support needed to access the assessments with admissions when applying. Offers depend on the assessment and availability of places.
