Entry information

BFC School is a full-time alternative educational provision for Year 10 and Year 11 students, not a Year 7 entry route. Its published admissions policy describes a placement discussion between the family, the child’s current school and BFC School, followed by an agreed referral, visit and induction. Baseline assessments take place during induction.

Entry stage: Years 10–11 (alternative provision)

The admissions process

  • Parent/carer discusses a possible move with the current school headteacher
  • BFC School headteacher discusses the possibility with the current school
  • Child and family visit the school
  • After placement agreement, referring school completes the referral form
  • Pupil completes an induction with baseline assessments
