Entry information
Bruern Abbey accepts Year 7 pupils into its Prep School. Families provide educational and school reports, then the pupil attends a term-time assessment morning with English and Maths and a conversation with the Head of Learning Support. Taster visits help determine whether the school can meet the pupil’s needs. The Prep School is coeducational from September 2026; girls enter the Senior School from September 2027.

The admissions process
- Provide an up-to-date Educational Psychologist’s report and recent school reports, then visit the school and meet the Head.
- Register for the Prep School assessment morning for Year 7. Assessment mornings run in term time throughout the year, with English and Maths, a tour and a conversation with the Head of Learning Support.
- A provisional offer and/or further taster visit may follow: a day visit for day pupils or overnight stay for boarders. An additional visit may sometimes be needed.
- The school confirms its decision after the taster visits, considering whether the pupil will benefit from the education and support available.
