Entry information

Farlington’s largest Middle School intake is Year 7. Following a satisfactory report from the current school, applicants take CAT4 testing, ideally by the end of the autumn term before entry; existing CAT4 or equivalent results may be used. The school says it welcomes a broad range of abilities and uses assessment performance and available places when allocating places. Contact Admissions for dates and arrangements for the intended September intake.

Entry stage: Year 7 entry to the Middle School (Years 5–8); no dated intake year is published

What the assessment covers

  • CAT4 cognitive ability assessment

The admissions process

  • Register early and provide the current school report; Farlington advises registering ideally by December before the September start.
  • Complete CAT4 testing, ideally by the end of the preceding autumn term. If the pupil already has CAT4 or equivalent results, the school may use those instead.
  • The school considers assessment performance and available places; it does not publish a separate written 11+ paper or a dated upcoming cycle on the entry page.
