Entry information

For September 2027 entry

For Year 7 entry in September 2027, Heritage School holds its entrance examination morning on 5 December 2026. Applicants sit English and maths papers and complete extended writing. First-round offers are made on 14 December, with later assessments and offers possible where places remain available.

Entry stage: 11+ / Year 7

What the assessment covers

  • English
  • Maths
  • Extended writing

The admissions process

  • Enquire about availability and arrange a visit or Open Morning. Register your interest after visiting; the current page lists a £30 registration fee and £120 assessment fee.
  • Provide your child’s most recent school report. Heritage requests a confidential reference from the current school; discuss any learning support or access needs with the Headmaster early.
  • For September 2027 Year 7 entry, attend the examination morning on 5 December 2026. The published policy describes a Saturday morning visit lasting up to three hours, including standardised tests and writing; this is the whole visit, not the duration of each paper.
  • The Year 7 admissions page names maths, English and extended writing. The school considers assessment results alongside school reports, the confidential reference, attitudes to learning and whether its provision suits the child.
  • First-round offers are due on 14 December 2026. Later applications normally join the waiting list, with further assessments and offers possible during spring and summer if places remain.
  • Follow the response deadline in the offer letter. A signed Acceptance Form and the current £450 non-refundable Acceptance Fee secure the place; incoming Year 7 pupils are invited to a summer Jump Up Day.
  • If you need financial assistance, request a means-tested bursary application from the school. Bursary awards are discretionary and reviewed annually.

Before you apply

  • Ask Admissions about current Year 7 availability, assessment arrangements and any access requirements for your child.
  • Use the deadline in your offer letter for accepting a place; internal Year 6 re-acceptance has a separate process.
  • Confirm current charges and the fees for the intended year of entry. The published 2026–27 tuition fees do not establish the final 2027–28 fees.
