Year 7 entry

For September 2027 entry

For September 2027 Year 7 entry, Herschel Grammar uses the Slough Consortium’s shared 11+ test. A score of 111 or above allows consideration under Herschel’s own oversubscription rules. The home-local-authority application is due by 31 October 2026; Herschel does not require a supplementary form at this stage.

What the assessment covers

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non verbal reasoning

An eligible score allows consideration, not an automatic offer; each school uses its oversubscription criteria.

Applicants must name desired schools on their Common Application Form.

The admissions process

  • The main shared test was held on 19 September 2026; results were scheduled for release at 4pm on 15 October 2026.
  • A standardised score of 111 or above establishes eligibility for consideration. Herschel’s September 2027 policy sets a planned admission number of 150 and its own oversubscription priorities.
  • Submit the Common Application Form to the home local authority by 31 October 2026. Herschel states that it does not require a supplementary form at this stage; school allocation is on 1 March 2027.
