Entry information
Hidelow Grange is a residential specialist school for boys aged 11–18 whose pupils live at Hidelow House. Families and placing authorities can contact Branas about a potential placement; care, education and therapy staff review suitability and plan each young person’s transition. It does not use a standard 11+ entrance examination.
Entry stage: Specialist residential placement (ages 11–18)
The admissions process
- The school’s 2026 admissions policy describes direct enquiries, commissioned referrals, managed moves or transitions and readmission as entry routes.
- Referrals are reviewed at a monthly Risk and Referral Meeting. The school considers referral information, safeguarding and risk, and whether it can meet the young person’s educational and therapeutic needs.
- After a place is offered, the headteacher completes an initial education assessment and sets out any conditions, support needs and transition/induction plan. Contact Branas referrals on 01490 440 500.
