Entry information

Kingham Hill accepts day and boarding applications from Year 7; it lists Year 7 as a main entry point. After registration (£120), applicants attend a CAT4 assessment and interview with a senior leader. The school says CAT4 needs no preparation or revision; GL Assessment strongly advises against practice because it can affect score reliability. Contact Admissions for current dates and availability.

The admissions process

  • Year 7 is a main entry point for day and boarding pupils. Families register online; the school lists a non-refundable £120 registration fee.
  • After registration, applicants are invited to a CAT4 assessment and an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The school may request additional information, a further assessment or a taster day for an individual applicant.
  • CAT4 is a cognitive abilities assessment, not an English/maths attainment examination. GL Assessment describes verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial ability tasks.
  • The school says no preparation or revision is required. GL Assessment strongly advises against practice or coaching because it can alter the reliability of results. Outcomes are normally provided within two weeks of assessment.
