Entry information

Maria Montessori School offers an age-11 route through its Upper Elementary programme (ages 9–12), with Adolescent Secondary from age 12. This is a Montessori age-stage transition rather than a conventional Year 7 exam. Families transferring from another school should contact Admissions before applying and ask about Upper Elementary places at Hampstead and future Adolescent entry.

Entry stage: Upper Elementary at age 11, then Adolescent Secondary from age 12

The admissions process

  • Ask Admissions about an Upper Elementary place for an 11-year-old at Hampstead; the school describes Elementary education for ages 6–12 and Upper Elementary for ages 9–12. Its Adolescent Secondary programme begins at age 12.
  • If transferring from another school, contact Admissions before applying and arrange a tour or classroom observation.
  • The school’s application fee places a child on its waiting list but does not guarantee admission. Confirm availability, timing and the age-stage transition with the Admissions Manager.
