Entry information

Open Box Education Centre is an alternative-provision placement for pupils joining in Year 10 or Year 11. Its published referral guidance says places are made on a local-authority referral basis and coordinated with a referring agency; it does not describe a general entrance examination.

Entry stage: Years 10–11

The admissions process

  • A referring agency asks the Principal about a placement; the school says referrals are made by the local authority.
  • A pre-referral visit may be arranged. The referring link worker oversees the referral form.
  • If the referral is suitable and an agency agreement is in place, the pupil, parent/carer, link worker and Principal meet.
  • The placement timetable, hours, curriculum and start date are agreed with the referring agency and family.
