Entry information
For September 2027 entry
Reading School runs its own FSCE Year 7 test, with a separate school registration and a Common Application Form to the applicant’s home local authority. For September 2027, registration closed 17 May 2026; in-catchment day and boarding candidates tested 16 July, SEN candidates 15 July, and out-of-catchment day candidates 25 September. The FSCE assessment draws on Key Stage 2 subjects through Year 5 and creative thinking. A separate sporting-aptitude assessment applied to candidates seeking the school’s sport-priority places; it is not part of every candidate’s route.
