The admissions process

  • The school recommends registering at least two years before the intended entry year; 11+ is its main intake, with about 40 Year 7 places.
  • Candidates take the school’s own English and Mathematics examinations plus a general paper, which may include graded spelling, non-verbal puzzles, code-breaking and general knowledge.
  • Selection also includes an interview with the Headmistress or a senior member of staff and a report from the current school.
  • The school does not issue past papers; guidelines are available to parents or the current school on request. Results are normally notified within three weeks of the examinations.
  • The school gives preference to Roman Catholic applicants; non-Catholic families are asked to contact admissions in the first instance.
