Entry information

The Emscote School provides specialist secondary education for pupils aged 11–16 who cannot attend mainstream school. Places are funded by the local authority and considered individually; parents, schools or the authority can start a placement discussion. The school welcomes visits.

Entry stage: Year 7 onwards (ages 11–16)

The admissions process

  • The school provides specialist secondary placement for ages 11–16, including pupils with social, emotional, communication, learning, sensory or physical needs.
  • A placement is considered individually and is normally local-authority funded. Before transfer, the school plans with parents/carers, the current school and other agencies; visits and meetings help agree arrangements.
  • Parents or the local authority can contact the school to discuss provision and placements. Admission can be at the start of a term or mid-term when individual circumstances require it.
