Entry information
For September 2027 entry
For September 2027 Year 7 entry, Harvey’s approved policy allows boys to qualify for consideration either through satisfactory scores on its own selection tests or through the Kent age-11 assessment. Its own tests cover Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and Key Stage 2 English and Mathematics. The school’s May 2026 notice directed Shepway Test applicants to register for the Kent Test first and register separately with Harvey; both tests were held in September 2026. Kent residents must name Harvey on their secondary common application by 2 November 2026. Families outside Kent apply through their home local authority, whose deadline is generally 31 October 2026. Contact Harvey if test registration was missed or the policy and application directions appear inconsistent for your child.

The admissions process
- Read the approved September 2027 policy: eligibility may come from Harvey’s own tests or the Kent age-11 assessment. For the 2026 Shepway Test, the school’s May notice instructed applicants to register for the Kent Test first and separately with Harvey; ask the school how the policy routes and registration directions apply to a late applicant.
- Harvey’s own selection tests cover Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and Key Stage 2 English and Mathematics. The policy says the school advertises test arrangements on its website and provides alternative dates for illness or religious reasons.
- Kent Test registration closed on 1 July 2026; its tests were held on 10 or 12–13 September 2026. Harvey’s notice set its own entrance test for Saturday 12 September 2026. Both have passed. Kent County Council offers a contact route for families who missed Kent Test registration; ask Harvey about its own-test arrangements.
- Name Harvey on the secondary common application. Kent residents must apply to Kent County Council by 2 November 2026. Families outside Kent apply through their home local authority; the usual national deadline is 31 October 2026, but check the exact deadline with that authority.
- Use Kent County Council’s familiarisation materials if relevant. The council’s announced provider change starts with tests in 2027 for September 2028 entry, not this September 2027 intake.

Before you register
- Harvey’s policy allows qualification through its own tests or the Kent Test. Its separate 2026 notice asks Shepway Test candidates to register for the Kent Test first; ask Harvey which registration applies to a late or future applicant.
- The 2027 policy does not list a test date; use the school’s current admissions notice for any later sitting.
