Plan your approach

Entry information

The school does not set an entrance exam. Applications involve a Headteacher meeting and tour, an application, school information and possible taster days. Benchmark activities during a taster help staff understand a child’s learning level. Existing Year 6 pupils and siblings receive priority.

Entry stage: Year 7

The admissions process

  • Contact the Registrar at kings.pa@thekingsschool.com or 01582 767566 to arrange an initial meeting with the Headteacher and a tour.
  • Discuss the school’s Christian teaching and worship, your child’s needs and the availability of places. The policy also considers families from other backgrounds who agree with the school’s ethos.
  • If you wish to proceed, complete the school’s application form and fee and provide the latest school report and requested support information.
  • Arrange any taster days the school requests. Staff observe how your child engages in the classroom and may use benchmark papers to understand their current learning level.
  • The school reviews the information and available places. If the year group is full, ask about its waiting list. Confirm the Year 7 application and induction timetable with the Registrar.
