The admissions process
- Contact Admissions or submit an enquiry to confirm the current Year 7 route, entry arrangements and whether the child’s year group has a place. The school lists usual entry at age 11 and accepts in-year applications subject to availability.
- Complete the Registration Form and return it with the registration fee and a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Registered families are invited to a Year 7 taster day in the Autumn Term before September entry.
- External applicants sit an age-appropriate entrance examination in January before September entry. The assessment may be held during a taster day or on the published entrance-exam day. The school’s current 2026–27 term-date page lists Saturday 16 January 2027 as Entrance Exams. Confirm that this date applies to the child’s application.
- The school interviews the applicant, requests a report from the current Head Teacher, and considers an appropriate combination of English, Mathematics, verbal and non-verbal reasoning depending on year of entry. It says the tests assess potential and that children are not penalized for topics not yet covered at school.
- The Head makes the offer decision after considering the assessment and school report. If offered a place, return the Acceptance Form and fee by the deadline stated by the school.

Follow the school’s assessment guidance.
The policy says the test combination depends on year of entry and is designed to assess potential; pupils are not penalized for topics they have not yet covered at school. For a girl who has English as an additional language, an EAL paper replaces the usual English test. Ask Admissions which components apply to this Year 7 application and confirm the exam date before planning.
