Year 7 entry

For September 2027 entry

For September 2027 Year 7 entry, West Kirby uses the shared Wirral non-Catholic grammar assessment. Registration and the 15 September 2026 test have passed. Families must submit their secondary school preferences by 31 October 2026; meeting the test standard does not guarantee a place.

Wirral non-Catholic grammar assessment

What the assessment covers

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non verbal reasoning
  • Mathematics

St Anselm’s College and Upton Hall School arrange their own Catholic grammar assessments.

Meeting the grammar standard does not guarantee a place; each school applies its admission policy.

Use Wirral Council’s current timetable for deadlines; the candidate pack’s 31 May registration date is superseded by the council’s noon 1 June 2026 closure.
